But I'm so confused....everyteam seems to have "issues"...maybe I should go with the team with the best jokes about them?!?![]()
Women who are not born in to football, as they are in the south, usually pick a team with the cutest coach, QB, or mascot, or the best uniform colors. You can do better than that.
In the SEC (the nation's best conference) you have 6 teams out of 12 that have a legitimate shot at winning the conference championship year in and year out - Alabama, Auburn, and Louisiana State in the western division; and Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee from the eastern division. Might as well start with one of these because it would be no fun picking one of the other 6.
In the west, LSU has been very strong recently, along with Auburn. Alabama is clawing it's way back up after being down for many years and in trouble with the NCAA for rules violations. LSU fans are the craziest and can cook up a storm. While the food in Baton Rouge is awesome, most unbiased fans will tell you that Auburn is the 2nd best place in the league to spend a Saturday afternoon. Although, Bama is reported by the fairer sex to have the cutest coach, beauty is fleeting and true beauty in the SEC comes from fielding a great team.
In the east Florida is also rising again after a few down years and UGA has had recent success although they have lost 15 of the last 17 to UF. Florida is the defending national champion in basketball so you'd be all set for bball season as they return their top 6 players. The Swamp in Gainesville is the best place to see a football game and acknowledged by media and coaches as the toughest place for visitors to win. Tennessee? Well, Tennessee fans are embarrassed or embarrassing.

http://www.alligator.org/pt2/060922petty.php"What can I say?" Petty asked the screaming crowd in between hits "Mary Jane's Last Dance" and "I Won't Back Down." "It's so great to be here. I really feel like I've come home."
Gainesville Mayor Pegeen Hanrahan and Chris Machen, UF President Bernie Machen's wife, paid respects to Petty and the band.
"He truly embodies what it means to be human," Machen said.
I've met presidents and vice presidents and heads of state, but I'm a native of Gainesville, and there's nobody bigger than Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers to someone in Gainesville," Hanrahan said. "Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers are to Gainesville what the Beatles are to Liverpool."
Each band member received a key to the city.
"It's much nicer than Chicago's," Petty noted.
It's a beautiful town," Petty said. "I have nothing but fond memories."
The band's 13-year hiatus from performing in Gainesville resulted from a tour schedule that would have brought Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers to the city during summer, when few students would be in town to hear them.
This time, the band went out of its way to be on the road a little longer and play in Gainesville.
"I really, really love this town," Tench said. "It's very special, and y'all really need to know what you've got here. It doesn't feel like any other town that I know - it's really warm, and it's really lovely."
