Um, that would have been the early 90's.
Yes, thank you, 1990. Galen Hall quit the day after the 1989 game

What!?Yeah, the Aubbies are kind of like your stereotypical country folks. They are uptight in Tuscaloosa. Gainesville requires VERY thick skin. The closest I ever got to being involved in a football melee was in Athens-it involved some redneck tipping the cops off that we had booze in the stadium;otherwise, the Georgians are pretty genteel. Of all things we were flipped-off by a Vandy player for heckling, but the people there are like strawmen, just hoping they don't lose. I also did Tallahassee which was way more benign than Gainesville. Have never been to Oxford, Starkvegas, Knoxville or Lexington.
Auburn might be in the country, but I wouldn't stereotype their fans as being "country folks." My evidence is I-85 between Atlanta and Auburn on Saturday when Auburn plays at home. It is a parking lot. Seems like a lot of "city folks" to me.Yeah, the Aubbies are kind of like your stereotypical country folks. They are uptight in Tuscaloosa. Gainesville requires VERY thick skin.
