Allen Ramey passed away yesterday.....

Last night I was informed that SW Fire District attorney, Allen Ramey drowned while fishing with his father on a small private pond in DFS yesterday. Late afternoon, another fisherman found an overturned boat and Allen's body. The search for Allen's father was called off at dark and probably resuming this morning.

Allen Ramey is also the attorney for the South Walton Moquito Commission, as well as other boards.

Allen will be greatly missed.

Thanks for the posting. Allen also served as the attorney for CHELCO for many, many years. What a shock for the family. Yes, he will be missed and appreciated for all he did and how he did it.

Allen was such a nice person, soft spoken....a real southern gentleman. He was very knowledgeable in real estate law as well as Florida election law. My heart goes out to his and his father's family....so sad and such a loss of great knowledge.

Allen Ramey was just a great person and an extremely knowledgable attorney and a friend to all that met and knew him.

He certainly will be missed.

Are you talking about the same Alan Raimey? The man I know, should have been arrested for sexual harassment long years ago. He had one of the most disgusting mouths I've heard from a professional. I'm sorry he died, but...

FG, Allan Ramey was one of the most beloved, respected, and fair attorneys in Walton County. While my particular function does not involve the court system, I do work for that office and there were very few dry eyes today. Those who have been in law enforcement for a long time also respected him, even when he led a defense. Whereas there are a few attorneys around here that likely deserve the label you have plastered on him, Allen Ramey is not one of them.

You are entitled to your opinion, but I would like to point out that you seem to be the only person I know with that particular opinion, and to post that on the eve of the man's death crosses the line of tact and discretion.

I went to him for my first divorce way back when, and was so disgusted I walked out. Then my 2nd ex used him and had more of the same at mediation. Cursing and vulgarity. Hate to say it, but that's what happened to me.

The body of Allen's father was recovered today. According to SW Fire Chief Rick Talbert, viewing arrangements are Thursday from 6-8:00 in DFS and Funeral Friday at 11:00. Allen's wife Diane is doing well under the circumstances according to my report from the Chief. My thoughts and prayers are with his family AND the community who so beloved him.
