I love to eat Fried Cornbread.

I fry mine in my iron skillet in the oven. Pretty simple recipe; just cornmeal, salt, water and shortening.

In the oven? How the hell do you turn it without it burning? Stove top here, really hot oil. I like to experiment by adding Red Pepper (HOT), garlic powder, black pepper, etc.

What is fried cornbread?

Girl, I thought you were born and raised in the South. I guess Fried Cornbread is a country food, more than just a Southern food. I should fry you some one day.
