I have not looked at the specific contributions or expenditures but got curious because of all the big signs I was seeing in Walton County. These guys are spending a fortune for this seat. Group 3 seems to be the one for this area. Last time the big money spender lost the race. Wonder how it will play out this time?

Candidate Name Party Office District Group Total Amount

Brown, John T. NOP CTJ 001 002 5,687.12
Brooks,, Kenneth L. NOP CTJ 001 003 1,467.49

Jenkins, Thomas R. NOP CTJ 001 003 211,403.69
Lawson, Mike NOP CTJ 001 003 106,585.91

Stone, William Francis NOP CTJ 001 021 40,740.00

Is that the same Ron Swanson who serves as Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Pawnee (IN)? If so, he's a rather Libertarian-minded individual who believes in as little government interference as possible. Per wikipedia, he "believes government should be privatized and follow the business model of Chuck E. Cheese."

Isn't Stone the incumbent?
As to the whys, it is no big stretch to say this position has more power over things than all the others combined. Civil suits, divorces, injunctions, charging Grand Juries and of course all the criminal stuff. If you are getting sued wouldn't you want the Judge to look on you favorably?
Another good list would be which big shots are supporting which candidates.

These people aren't likely spending any money on the race. People who want the judge on their side should the time arise, are the ones who are spending the money.

My point exactly, thanks for clarifiying my ramblings.:D

Idlewind did not make a statement for your supposed strike 2, he asked it as a question. Feeling a wee bit aggressive IG?
