Petition To Protect Soldier Monuments

New posts
I do not subscribe to political correctness. The south left the union. That we are even arguing this is laughable. This kind of thinking kept the Jim Crow era alive for 100 years after the war. When you are wrong in your cause, the first thing you have to do is admit it. and then you can move on. Most of the soldiers did not own land or slaves. That has nothing to do with it. It is that they took up arms against their own country and aligned themselves with a system of abject evil.. This reach to put icing on a turd is alive and well in the hearts of many southerners today. My family is from Virginia, and my grandfather is buried in Arlington near a cul-de-sac containing confederate war dead, and if it were up to me, be they'd be dug up and moved. You don't honor traitors, unless of course, you agree with them.
Okay I understand your perspective. You are able to make judgement on these soldiers because they "aligned themselves with a system of abject evil". In other words your enemy must be demonized so that you can justify your judgment of the hearts and minds of those young soldiers. You simply do not know the hearts and minds of those dead soldiers and that is the failed logic. When you make such a judgement in character you should have very personal information which you do not have. Usually when people make these kind of judgments on other humans it is because of some fear of something. You should look into the mirror and ask yourself what it is you fear. You can have your perspective if it makes you feel better but I can assure you I do not agree with it. I think we all should look into the mirror every once in a while so this is not an insult.

You keep talking jibberish, again. You don't have to personally know these men to understand that they were willing participants in a treasonous armed rebellion against the United States over the issue of slavery, that resulted in the deaths of 640,000 Americans. If you consider that honorable, you have a vastly different concept of what is morally right in this world.

You just "can't handle the TRUTH"!

What "right" do you have to tell a majority of people that how they believe/feel is morally wrong? Who died and left you in charge of my moral compass?

I do not fear you or the multitude of people that exercise the right to think like you do. I make judgements on actions. Character is based on actions that reflect virtue. In your case, I'm judging your words. Johnny Reb took up arms against his own country. He went down. Fully one half or more of those soldiers were kids. They were fodder for some monumentally stupid, evil thinking. Evil has never bedded down with honor. If you want to live in denial because your people lost, that's fine. You are projecting the fear that some of your most basic beliefs are illogical. It's like an open wound. You can't get past it.

Slavery is morally wrong. I don't think you support slavery but people think you support slavery if you support the flag of slavery. It goes with the territory. Your territory is one of slavery. If you can't see that then you're blind. It's almost comical that you can't see it. People are poking you with sticks because you are like a scary animal they don't see very often. They don't understand you and want to see how you'll react.

You can argue 'til you die that it's about heritage and such. Most people don't see it that way. Your response that the majority of Walton County people want the flag is just more of your same. It's because most of them don't give a damn what others think, don't travel, don't have empathy, and don't read much except TV guide. Duck Dynasty is on who has time to read?

I like outsiders. I like fresh perspectives. Without them we'd still have plantations.

If killing lots of people is part of your criteria for judging evil then Abraham Lincoln is pretty evil. He just happened to be on the "right" side of history. Andrew Jackson killed millions of Native Americans including women and children and literally stole millions of acres of land from them. Jackson perfected the art of "ethnic cleansing". Harry Truman ordered the US military to drop atom bombs on Japan that literally incinerated millions of CIVILIAN men women and children that also crippled/mutilated many more even though Japan was willing to surrender. William McKinley's "take no prisoners, kill and burn them all" resulted in tens of thousands of Filipino deaths and thousands more in the concentration camps that they were herded to. James Buchanan sided with the South in regard to slavery and colluded with the Supreme Court which set the stage for the civil war.

More recently, George Bush invaded Iraq under false pretenses (WOMD's) resulting in the deaths of thousands of US troops and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens. James Polk and his "Manifest Destiny" resulted in the death of 25,000 Mexicans and the theft of Southwest North America. Franklin Roosevelt for the imprisonment of 100,000 Japanese Americans for simply "looking Asian". Lyndon Johnson for expansion of the Vietnam war while lying to the American people about the reason and prospects for the war. Richard Nixon further expanded that war and illegally spied on Americans. Last but certainly not least Dwight D. Eisenhower for authorizing the overthrow of the Iranian Gov. resulting in countless political murders which gave rise to Muslim extremism.

Evil has never bedded down with honor you say? HAHAHAHAHA!

Who ever said slavery was morally right? I certainly never have! What you don't understand Jensky is that the majority here in Walton County and throughout most of the Country don't see things from a far left radical perspective.

So you fear my viewpoint and have to label me? Why do you need to put people in boxes? "Outsiders" might change your little world? I am not from outside and I am far from far left. Do you have to be far left to be against slavery?

Again Jensky....when have I ever condoned slavery? You assuredly won't change my world.
