It's a deflection over the fact that the scandalous Trump regime did not achieve it's goal. The 2010 mid terms were so bad for Obama that he was catapulted into reelection in 2012. It's also not much of a comparison since Obama was not under investigation while openly obstructing justice.

The numbers are irrelevant. Trump needed these midterms to be the exception to the rule. He needed to maintain the house. He and his supporters can act like it's not a big deal all day long. Don't listen to them. It's a big deal. I won't even mention the numerous state races and 7 governorships they flipped. I also won't get into the local senate and governor's race, both of which are up for recount. To say that the GOP master plans weren't thwarted is to be in a pathological state of denial.
