This is a VERY RARE & expensive ONE OF A KIND utility vehicle HANDBUILT IN AUSTRIA and imported through Europa International, Inc. The original cost new in 1997 is over $130,000. It is a real head turner and one of a kind collector?s item. I have owned this truck for 6 years.
Europa imported these cars to the US specifically for the American market buyer who ordered the vehicle hand built for the American market. Prior to 2002, when they began making them in the USA, this was the only way to obtain one in the states. Mercedes bought out Europa in 2001 when they began manufacturing these trucks In the US. There are only 200 of these trucks in the US today !
G-Wagen enthusiasts know the Range Rover doesn?t hold a candle to this truck for overall performance & reliability. They are compatable with US diagnostics for mechanical maintenance and the inline 6 engine actually gets really good gas mileage, yet still has great power, towing capacity and 4 wheel drive performance. Serviced locally with oil changes and routine maintenance. We have towed 5,500 lbs and it has plenty of power.
All general maintenance is up-to-date and it runs & drives beautifully. There are G-Wagen sites on the internet where you can do research on these models. This 1997 model has NO chrome. All exterior trim is black.
