Last night, we stumbled upon this Frontiline documentary on Haiti - a very complete report, but very horrific - I wish I could say they sensationalized the story but the video footage says it all.
They did report that 1/2 of the US population donated through the Red Cross, NGOs, churches, and private groups. Very cool.
My friend there was in charge of organizing the visit of Presidents Clinton and Bush, and his wife was the Creole interpreter. He sent some great pictures- one was interesting because he and Bush were standing inside a huge tent, with stacks of wood in the background- it was a mobile saw mill. But after watching this show, I can't imagine how these people will get adequate shelter any time soon- probably years.
