Beach Erosion at Somerset Bridge Road Access

New posts
We were down to our condo last week, and we were surprised by the amount of beach erosion at the Somerset Bridge Road access by the Tom Thumb. There was very little useable beach there. It appeared that about three feet was lost at the Sowal sign on the beach. We went on down to Bramble Grove and the conditions were much better.

When this happens, does the county do a beach replenishment? I'm not trying to start any finger pointing, I just wonder when I might be able to use this access again.

You will find that the shape of a beach will change, sometime drastically, when the Gulf feels like it. It is not unusual and usually your beach returns, many times better than it was before.

We stayed at beachwood villas this weekend and noticed big chunks of black and red rocks in the water at the somerset road/beachwood villa beach access. My wife thinks that it is oil and I'm not sure. Does anyone know what these things are?
