Clearing on 395 in the state forest

New posts
Nun-Ya, have you heard anything about the Waffle House in PCB at 79 and Back Beach Road? In passing by there a few times over the past week or so, I did not see any activity there.

Ate at that one last Saturday night after taking 20 to 79 to home from Tallahassee. Nobody there when we got there, but then filled up. Guess it tooks us pulling in for everyone else to notice it was open.

But I really hope one doesn't come to SRB. That would take all the charm out of our late-night Fuzz buddy runs to WH in DeFuniak, and I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hail of ever talking Fuzz into IHOP or Another Broken Egg again.

No I haven't heard anything, I was just in the area yesterday and looked as if they had a few there.....

Who wants Waffle House when you can have a Corum's?

Corum's is great!! I love that place.

Just ate there a week ago with my kid who wanted a waffle. the chocolate chip waffle was excellent - nice, big, thinnish, crispy, real chocolate chips. my little burger and diner fries were quite good (better than burger king by far)... the place is looking very old and the workers/servers/cooks were very entertaining.

Will B - Florida banned smoking in restaurants ages ago.

regarding clearing of State Forest... its too bad that much needs to be cleared for utilities, especially since the landscaping is always nonexistent and so it remains an eyesore from now on. but, at least its not a development. I can live with it.

What gets me is that no one is asking why we need a substation all of a sudden? Is Hotel Veridian going to be that big? Has the state finally caved and sold the remainder of Deer Lake State Park to Joe?

CHELCO doesn't just build things for the hell of it. There's something going on and it stinks.

good point.

and what is going on with Deer Lake State Park?

good point.

and what is going on with Deer Lake State Park?

Nothing that I'm aware of. My point is that every piece of land between down here has been, or has a development order in place, to be developed. I can't believe that even a small development would warrant a sub station. Perhaps it's panic and this has been in the works all along. :idontno:

While everything that can be platted south of the bridge as this point essentially has been, there are still a lot of empty lots and empty fields out there with development orders and it could be they're trying to take advantage of lower construction costs right now and building capacity ahead of future hard development.

Could also be it's a good idea to have a more storm-hardened or redundant station south of the bridge to help minimize disruptions the next time we get a bad hurricane.

I think it's the former. Since we already have the coming soon picture here in Seagrove next to the old Beach Rentals building.
