hitchhike? Where were you going?
Did you ever pick up a hitchhiker? Where?

Answer, discuss, ask your own "did you ever" question.

I hitched-hiked to and from Tallahassee and Seagrove during my college days, quite a bit. Always had a good time... and some were so good, I can barely remember them...

Heavens, NO!...this question gave me the vapors! Must be the scare tactics my mother used on me.

It's unheard of now for sure!! I never hitched a ride that I can recall, but I did pick one up one time. Drove him to OK City. It was one hundred years ago.

I was raised that hitchhiking was just asking for your ravaged body to be found in a ditch.

Closest I came to hitchhiking was in Northern Saskatchewan when we were way behind schedule on a 35 day trip, so we went to the Indian reservation and paid someone with a pickup to drive the 7 of us, our 3 canoes, and assorted packs 70 kilometers closer to our pickup point.

All my hitch-hiking was in the mid-seventies. Fresh out of our first year in college, me and my buddy went to Hardees in FWB and hitched a ride to the 1972 Atlanta Pop Festival. The folks who befriended us had two VW Beetles, tents, and more recreational drugs than you could ever dream about. We floated into the festival at about 4 AM in time to see Jimi Hendrix playing the Star-Spangled Banner with gigantic fireworks in the background... at least, I think that's what happened... it was a while ago...

I love hitch hikers, my last vic..er passenger had a sticker in his wallet with this website and login info.
