Beach Crab
On Saturday, November 7 2009, I helped my friend transport a beautiful white female Boxer from P.A.W.S. in Ft. Walton to a foster home with the local Boxer rescue. She had a nice collar on WITH county identification tags for '08 and '09. I asked them if they tried to locate her owners and they said they posted her info on thier website but nobody ever tried to contact them. I have been searching all over the internet trying to locate anyone searching for her.
They said she was a stray picked up on October 19, 2009. I am worried she could belong to someone that doesn't use or have access to the internet... I live in Pensacola so I can't drive around your area looking for flyers. I am going to contact your local vets in the morning to see if anyone may recognize her.
She appeared to be around 5-9 years old? She had a beautiful brown patch around her right eye with some gray hairs, brown spots on her ears, but completely white other than the markings. She looks like she's lost a good bit of weight because her collar was very loose. Her ID tags were from the Niceville Animal Hospital? ('08-very worn) and the P.A.W.S. shelter ('09).
I know this is definitely someone's dog that will be missed terribly. She was obviously kept indoors because the larger breeds will form "pads" or worn spots on their pressure points from laying on concrete or other hard surfaces and she had no worn spots anywhere on her body. She was fairly healthy (a bit thin) and had very good manners while riding in the car. She knew how to jump up into my friend's SUV and pop her head out of the window....
So many times people find lost pets and assume they came from neglectful owners or deserve a "better" home. This often times IS NOT the case! Dogs enjoy new smells and "independent walks!" Sometimes, they just can't find their way back home. I will keep searching...
I'm having trouble uploading her pics but will try to post some eventually!
Spread the word! Thanks Shannon
