Eastern Lake bike path/bridge

Watch out for recreational bikers veering into the road as you cross Eastern Lake! They are in the process of building a bike bridge off the roadway and have already moved the asphalt path, but the bridge is incomplete so bikers are forced to suddenly veer into the road to avoid a large patch of sand or a long drop off a short bridge stub.

They have signs posted, but I think most people (especially all the newcomers this weekend) will still be caught by surprise when they find they have to transition onto the road w/o a path and as there is no shoulder at that point, kiddos will be in the road w/ the traffic.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to do a similar bike bridge over Western Lake to get the bikers out of traffic?

Next week, County Road 30A at Eastern Lake will be closed from
9:00 a.m. until about 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. This closure
is to allow installation of the multipurpose path pedestrian bridge across
the lake.
Travelers may detour around using County Road 395 on the west
side and South WaterSound Parkway on the east side of the closure site.

Just an update. The new bridge has been set into place and the concrete floor for it has been poured. There is still some work remaining on the approaches before it can be used.
