Two Adorable Dachshunds in Search of a Loving Home....
I told my friends that if anyone could help find a home for these pups; it would be someone from SoWal! I?m posting this for the Eddie and Charlie?s foster parents and I hope we?ll find a home soon. Here?s some information about the boys (pics coming soon):
About four months ago, Eddie & Charlie had to move in with Andy and Katie until they could find new homes. The boys have spent their entire lives (7 years) together. They grew up in a loving environment, but their parents could no longer keep them due to going through a divorce. Andy and Katie already have a long hair dachshund, Chelsea who has been a great sister to them both. Chelsea was an only child for 5 years, so we are very impressed with how well they all get along. The dogs are loved very much, but due to their living situation in an 11th story condo & traveling between Pennsylvania and Florida, they just can not keep them long term.
Eddie is a miniature dachshund (weighs about 12 lbs.) who loves to snuggle and be held. He gives lots of kisses and enjoys attention. Charlie is about 23lbs. and is very loving & loyal. He is protective of his owner and little brother and loves to be outside & take walks. They are both up to date on shots, do not bark very much and have a calm demeanor. Eddie travels in a car very well, but Charlie has some anxiety. Since they are used to the Florida climate and have short hair, they need to be kept in a warm place.
They seem to get along with children and other dogs if introduced slowly (They have been to a pet park where they met many different breeds). They have only been introduced to cats one time, and tried to chase them. This is not to say that they could not adapt to sharing a home with cats, but they may need some adjustment time and boundaries.
We are looking for a wonderful family who will keep Eddie & Charlie together. After seeing how they interact, we can not bring ourselves to separate them. If you know of anyone who would be a good candidate, please forward this email and our contact information. They are currently living in Hellertown, PA with Andrew, but can be brought back to Florida easily.
