Free Desktop Computer

[Beach Runner]

We have an old desktop computer down here at the beach that we want to get rid of, either give it away or dispose of it properly. It is a Gateway G6-350 with 128 MB RAM and a 6 GB hard drive. Frankly it is painfully slow even though we wiped out everything on the hard drive, reinstalled XP, and added the minimal applications. For legal reasons we will have to remove the software that is licensed to my husband's company.

128 MB RAM is probably the slow part, eh? It might work well for someone if they could expand the RAM and add a portable hard drive. Somewhere, I know there is someone who could use it, and it is a heck of a lot faster than no computer. Kudos to you for offering to give it away. I love it! If I hear of someone needing one, I'll give you a shout. Off the top of my head, I wonder if an organization like the Boys and Girls Club would have a use for it.

Yeah. I gripe about having 1 gig because I want at least 2 (actually 4).
