The Friends of Scenic 30-A, caretakers of the Florida designated scenic highway, will be having a special guest speaker, Sam Sammelmann from Walton County Planning and Development Services, give a very informative and if I know Sam, a very entertaining presentation on GIS information that is available to the public. This presentation will be featuring Scenic 30-A. Sammelmann, the Walton County Planning and Development Services GIA Manager, will give a presentation on the types of services that are available to the public through GIS mapping. This very interesting presentation will include showing map layers of Scenic 30-a such as: the White Sand Protection Zone, the Wildlife Protection Zone (think turtle-lighting), flood zones, wetlands, soils, land use, parks, trails, 2010 aerials and a new product which actually shows 3-dimensional buildings in South Walton as they exist on the ground and from which all kinds of data can be obtained.
