Gov's Budget to Eliminate Funds for Homeless

New posts
I think the advertising is a good place to cut, at least reduce; let the private sector business and corporate entities advertise their individual properties with their own money completely; let the food growers advertise their crops; the Citrus industry advertise their fruit.

Stop the farm subsidies that pay people to let land lay vacant; forget about paying people to plant trees.

Find a way to utilize empty school buildings and ball fields so that the electricity for heating and cooling is not so expensive.

use some of the above advertising money as an incentive for car pooling; and solar installations; seriously invest in research and development to find a more equitable way to produce and use solar and wind energy.

Put teachers completely in charge of education...get the politicians out of making rules for education. I know some of these elected officials; and they are not qualified to make these rules.

Eliminate colleges of education and hire teachers who are experts in math and science and English and engineering, etc.

the list is endless...

I thought Scott was already forgoing his salary - think it is officially 1 cent.

I'm with you on cutting advertising.

according what I read he is not taking a salary--I would like to see him donate that salary to a worthy state employee or two; or three teachers could be paid for a year with what he is supposed to make; textbooks and supplies for an entire elementary school could be purchased for a year;foster children could eat for a long time on $124,000 or whatever it is...another veteran might have a home or a job or help getting health care;
disabled people could have transportation...or heat or air conditioning..

Scary thought - all of the programs having their funding slashed are what differentiates our poor and unemployed from those of some other countries .................... that are experiencing massive civil unrest and protests.

exactly. that is why an entire society suffers when "the least among us" does not have a safety net...or a helping hand.
