Those North Dakota winters are just too hard on the guy.

My Dad will be coming down from roughly just before Christmas through end of March. He is a retired man of humble living these days.

If anyone has private and furnished living quarters they would be willing to rent out for roughly $500-$600 per month or less, to a great, very clean older gentleman who will fill his time mostly playing golf, watching sports on the tube, and visiting his Grandchildren, please let me, his son, know!

My Dad was all ready to do this deal for $600.00, with the owner and him agreeing to terms. Then, the rental agent got involved and upped the price to almost $750.

Pity, now she's lost the owner some guaranteed money for 3 months.

So, my Dad is still looking if anyone has something in the $500-600/month range. If someone sees the value of one in the hand being better than two in the bush, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sorry things didn't work out but after being advised of the taxes involved in any rentals, which we were aware of but not conversant with, and agreeing with the rental firm that these were applicable to any and all who wish to rent and not something we would be willing to pay in addition to the serious reduction in the rental to your Dad, we agreed to move this through them as per our management agreement. I did receive a short telephone message refusal from Robert during Thanksgiving week. Wish it would have worked out but there you are......good luck to Robert, hope he has a great visit.

No worries. Sorry it did not work out either. I'm afraid it was a refusal born of unknown financial restrictions at that increased rental rate, especially if my Pops wants to get some golf in.

So, I'm still trying to help him find something on the $500-$600/month range, for January - March (maybe even just January & February), if any could use the extra money for the New Year!

You should try Village of South Walton. They have some great furnished units for $500 per month. You can even ask Terry, the manager about giving you a tour. Bonus for Grandpa Bob - its really close to the Camp Creek golf courses and walking distance to some great places to eat! The number is 850.231.4070 or 850.231.4076. Good luck with the search!
