guard rail on HWY 98

OKay so this guard rail has been torn up for a while but my husband and I have a 50.00 bet about what actually happened to the rail. Its the rail thats straight across from where 331 dead ends to 98. Anyone have the answer on this?

It was torn up for only a few days, and it has been rebuilt. A driver apparently went through that intersection, smashed through the guard rail, and took out a few illegally placed campaign signs of Sheriff Johnson. Look for the thread titled "Rumor."

Thanks! For some reason I thought it had been down for a while. My husband is arguing that it was the off-duty deputy that just recently wrecked on 331 and 98. I cant convince him otherwise. Thanks for the info

be sure your words are tasteful, because sometimes you have to eat them. your husband sounds like he has been keeping up to date on the latest happenings.

You may have seen it smashed in the past, because there are often wrecks at that intersection. I have seen more than two wrecks at that intersection involving Walton County's finest, in official Sheriff's vehicles.

Point taken. I was just so convinced that wasnt the cause... the paper stated "he hit a tree, before the intersection of 331 and 98" . Sorry just wasn't able to translate that into "hitting a guard rail"

Yes, it was the off-duty cop. He has been charged with reckless driving for the incident. It was in the paper the other day.
