The hubby and I are new to the area. Just moved here from Virginia Beach. We are looking for great local places to eat (not 200 dollars expensive). Also we love to snorkel. Any places besides Pompano (old pier) or the jetties. Any tips are appreciated!
Have you checked the Food and Dining forum? There are some great ideas. I wish I could be of more help. Red Bar is great, but cash only. There is a new restaurant across the street called Shorty's which has great reviews. Also Flip Flops has recieved great reviews for their Gorgonzola burger. I haven't been to any of the above. I have been to Flip Flops for breakfast and that was good. We also have been to Gravel Road which is pretty good. There is also a restaurant called Stinky's which is supposed to be great. Can be very busy so may need to check a time when you should go so you don't have to wait. Good luck
Pretty much it's all good, but definitely peruse the dining forum.
My new yummy casual favorite is Pizza Bar in Seaside. Love Stinky's, Shades at the Loop, Wild Olives, Red Bar of course, I'm sure there are many more. Where on 30A are you located?
Thanks for the info everyone. We are in Destin but love to travel out your way. We've been to Pickles which was great for a fried food fix ;-) We've also gone to Wild Olive and I had their salmon and goat cheese pizza which was sooo good. I wanted to go back for their Friday wine tasting and tapas (15 bucks from 3-6 I think) but haven't made it back. Grayton Beach looks really good and I heard a lot about Stinky's. Would love to try the 98BBQ place too. Again, all suggestions are appreciated!
