FRIENDS, I need your HELP. I will join Mission Love Seeds early next week on a trip to tornado devastated Tuscaloosa, Alabama to deliver much needed basic supplies to the families who's lives have been torn apart. We will rent as many moving vans as needed to move the donations so we will be collecting MONEY to pay for the gas and rental. We need canned food, clothes, shoes, hats, bedding, pillows, medical, dental and hygiene supplies. We need large umbrellas and folding chairs that you won't want back. small stuffed animals and doll babies for the children. Bring all donations to Keller Williams Realty at 151 Regions Way in Destin, FL 32541
If you need someone to pick it up, call me at 850-830-2331. Dontations can be made at MissionLoveSeeds.com via paypal or at the Keller Williams office.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but numerous times on CNN the governor of Alabama has requested that people focus their donations to the American Red Cross so that the management of so many random charities doesn't overcomplicate the relief efforts.

Many locals are doing concentrated relief efforts because they have friends and family affected and so can deliver items directly to them w/o causing administrative issues.

If anyone else is like me and refusing to give to the Red Cross for any sorts of reason, the following charity groups are listed as participating in relief efforts according to Alabama Emergency Management situation report:

Salvation Army
Samartian's Purse
Convoy of Hope
Mennonite Disaster Service
United Methodists
America's First
Alabama Southern Baptists
Alabama Baptists Disaster Relief
The Archdioceses of Birmingham and Mobile (Roman Catholic)
United Way/211
Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives

United Way of West Alabama

Untied Way is accepting donations both monetary and at drop off locations as are many area churches.

All you Auburn folks probably know about Toomers for Tuscaloosa on FB. They seem to be going all out and are coordinating constantly on Face book. They are not just helping Tuscaloosa but all affected areas.
