Paula- my doc told me about the yogurt, and she gave me this recipe. She has always looked like a million bucks. No white sugar, white flour, and always low fat.

I'm not a huge yogurt fan unless it is custard style and tastes more like pudding, but I liked this OK-

16 oz. container of plain low fat yogurt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 T 1/4 Splenda, or to taste

I mix this up, and eat it plain or with blueberries

That's pretty much what I do when I'm eating smart at night. Have you tried that Greek Yogurt from Trader Joes? My sister-in-law from LA told me about it. I think it's just a matter of time before the regular supermarkets carry it. It tastes so rich and custard-y yet no fat.

I'm sticking with my Yoplait custard style. Decided to try their "lighter" artificially sweetened variety last week - opened the lid and some of it splattered onto my shirt. Was so runny on the spoon that I dropped more of it onto my shirt. Decided I didn't care much for the taste of it and didn't even finish it. Stood up to take it to the garbage, dropped it on the floor and yogurt splattered everywhere. I went back to the custard style the next day. I'll add a few minutes to my workout to offset the extra fat and calories!

That is my favorite!! I love it!! I've been trying to be good though.:( Congrats on your diet success. It is nice to hear about the winners!

Oh I know. I meant to say, "Thanks for warning me."

Ok, I understand now. I felt bad about the graphic visual regardless. Perhaps a little over the top.

P.S. Thanks Paula & Jdarg for the nice words.

P.P.S. Somebody stop me from posting NOW!

Orville Redenbacher's "Smart Pop" Kettle Korn is pretty good (94% fat free) - slightly sweet, slightly salty.

Also melba toast with salsa & reduced fat cream cheese.

No, it wasn't over the top & the visual didn't bother me. I don't get grossed out that easily. I know I need to watch it sometimes. I go way over the top. I just get carried away because I'm anonymous here!

My controbution: If you are on a fat free diet..avoid fats  DUHHH
but if you are on a low carb diet...this is much healthier and you can keep the hunger monster away by eating cheese, nuts, lean meats, dried fruits (cranberries, apricots, and mangos) and eggs.
Every one is different...some people do better with a low fat diet, and some with low carb....I personally like the low carb route...I cut way down on pasta, breads, rice, corn products and potatoes... :( :bang: sad, I know!!!!
things like pretzels and popcorn are not good snacks...empty carbs! If you are going to do a low carb diet...choose your carbs wisely

I think I can help you out here. I've lost 60 lbs. now and I don't starve myself. One of my favorite snacks is hummus with sesame flatbread (I found this brand at Jewel and Dominick's called "Ak-mak" - 100% whole wheat stone ground sesame crackers. They are usually by the Ry-krisp and melba toast. 5 good sized crackers have 116 calories and 3.5 grams of fiber and they are really good.) The store bought hummus is ok - probably better to make your own or go to Pita Inn in Wheeling (just south of Dundee on Elmhurst Rd. Probably not too far for you.) If you like Middle Eastern food, I highly recommend it - not fancy but really good and not expensive at all!

I also like black bean salsa with baked tortilla chips. Here's my salsa recipe:

1 can of Red Gold petite diced tomatoes with green chiles
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can white corn, drained
Lime juice, fresh minced garlic, cilantro and chopped onions to your liking
You can also add 1 or 2 chopped avocados, but this adds fat (though it's good fat.) Doesn't keep as long this way, either. But it's a really nice addition.

Nuts and pretzels are good, too, but put your portion in a bowl and don't eat right out of the package - too easy to overindulge. My hubby is a great one for getting a bag of chips and before he knows it, he's eaten half the bag.

Hope this helps!
:clap_1: CONGRATULATIONS! Losing weight is one of the hardest hurdles life can throw at you!

I need some ideas for some good lo-fat snacks. I've already lost some weight but I need new snack ideas. Don't want anymore carrots, celery sticks, fruit in a can, etc.
:clap_1: CONGRATS! Losing weight is one tough thing to do. My hats off to ya! Keep up the good work.
