I thought I just saw a ghost

New posts
Yes and no unless they are not friendly ghosts.

I have a couple of haints living in my attic. We have an understanding now, but that took a while. I am pretty sure they got rid of the boogeyman under the bed. And, I really wish they woud fix that dern leak!

One is male. A couple of years after I moved in, the doorbell rang in the middle of the day. I answer the door and there is blonde haired woman standing there, sobbing hysterically. I offered to help, not knowing what was going on with her. She caught her breath and said between large hiccup type sobs, "My Grandparents used to own this house and my Grandmother is in the car. This is bringing back memories of my childhood." So, I invited them in. We had tea and walked around as the elderly lady gave me a complete history of the house. Her husband was a General Contractor, which explained a lot. They owned the house for 44 years. He is one haint. The other is a female and I wonder if she was his concubine.

I ain't skeered of these ghosts. But, I'll bet some are skeery!

In addition to ghosts sometimes I have these occurances where afterwards, I just get a weird, creepy sensation.

Recently I was listening to Pandora radio and Frank Sinatra was my music selection. With Pandora you get your chosen selection then also music that is similar in time period or performer. A song by Bing Crosby came on and at the time I thought that is weird, I had no idea that Bing Crosby recorded, "Don't Fence Me In". I was familar with the song but more so in Western movies such as Roy Rogers, but had never heard the Bing Crosby version.

Much later that night, in the wee hours of about 2am I was watching TV and reading. I decided to turn in and was flipping through channels looking for the weather channel before going to bed, when the intro to a show just coming on caught my eye. It was Cold Case, a show I am familar with but have never watched before. TheCold Case was a young woman that died under mysterious circumstances during World War II.

I ended up watching the entire show: On the eve of the 60-year reunion of women who worked in a weapons factory during World War II, Lilly is asked to re-investigate the death of Alice Miller, one of the worker girls. The death was deemed accidental at the time, but her friend pleads to Lilly to look closer into the case.

At the end of the show, the main detective, Lilly is putting away the Cold Case file in a large storage warehouse using a very tall step ladder. When she looks down, there stands the ghost of Alice Miller, their eyes meet and Alice says thank you and as she walks away and slowly fades from view, the music keys in.

The song: Don't Fence Me In by Bing Crosby.
