I think I am good to go.thank you JDarg for the menu last year (or was it the year before?).
We are unbelievably out of bourbon. And I have a whiskey barrel full of mint.
We won't be able to watch live this year- prom pictures start at 5. It looks like post time is at 6:28 EST.
I have to say I really haven't been paying attention this year- while all my Louisville friends have been watching the Derby weather forecast all week and worrying about fashionable wet weather footwear, I have been looking at maps of the oil spill.
Ya know, I think we may need the bourbon here more than in KY!!
A first for me- saw a Derby hat made of Legos- check out the hat picture galleries on www.courier-journal.com. Much more fun than the celebrity pics- it looks like it was another C-list year.

Mint Julep: Muddle 3 to 5 mint leaves in a glass with 1 Tablespoon of powdered sugar and 1 Tablespoon of Woodford Reserve - official bourbon of the Derby. Fill glass with crushed ice. Add 2 ounces of Woodford. Add more ice and sprig of mint. Enjoy. Ellen
