Key West is Better...WTF!

Since the Hemingway look alike contest has been taken by those happenin' Key Westers, maybe we can find somebody similar to liven things up.

I wonder if Buddy Ebsen has been taken yet?

I love Key West- we celebrated my best friend's 40th there 3 years ago. There were 4 of us- the birthday girl, me, our friend Susan, who was still in a wig after breast cancer treatment, and another gal who turned out to be a complete alcoholic but total comic relief. Kate was just a year old, and I hadn't left her for a minute since her birth. A place like KW was perfect for a group like us- we found fantastic restaurants, good boat trips, and laughed so hard our stomachs hurt for days after arriving home. That place is just too bizarre- beauty, fun people, weirdos...all together. It has great natural scenery and freaky sideshows- how they all came to be aligned is a marvel.

We stayed at the Pier House, and there is actually a teeny tiny beach there, but it's a beach! It is also clothing optional, and as usual, the wrong people were "nekkid".. While sunning one afternoon, I rolled over onto my stomach, and looked right into the crack (that was a nekkid crack) of the person in the chair in front of me. That view required a very strong margerita!

It would be a very boring world if everyone who lived on it liked exactly the same thing.

And don't get me wrong. I love that I get to live here full time. But for me, for what people pay for a cottage for a week in Seaside, well, I'm not really a sit by the beach kind of woman. I'd much rather get a chance to hike through and photograph southern Utah, or investigate all the big city coolness of London, or check out Iceland or Italy or explore Tokyo instead.
