Anyone have any information on the status of the library budget? I notice there is a meeting next week; Walton Sun had one date--I have heard another, so it is either July 14 or 15th?/anyone know?
It is also at 9 a.m. so anyone who works won't be able to attend.
I really would like to know more about how the library system is funded and how the decision to open or close; buy books or not, etc. is determined. Who at the County level makes the final decisions?
I think we have a wonderful library in South Walton and it offers a lot more than just a place to check out a book: meeting room, story time, summer reading program, art displays, computers for research....the library in Freeport also offers a lot; and the DeFuniak Library is a historical jewel--I am not familiar with the other branches and not sure if the Book Mobile exists any more...
Apparently, some people in South Walton really stepped up to make the library here what it is today. I just learned that it was not always run by the County...can anyone enlighten me and others who may have an interest, about how it worked before?
Is the County the best operator?
Any insights appreciated. Thanks.
