My question: does a devotee really try to piece it all together or do you really just get caught up in the passionate acting and suspense? I've watched several random episodes thru the years and loved it even though I knew little to nothing of the plot threads. The characters are so good, ya know?

If you have Netflix Lynnie, seasons 1-5 are fully streamable in HD if you want to watch it for real. I still think the first two seasons were the best. I wouldn't mind watching them all again in order...will need a two week vacation to do it I think. lol

Douglas, I am so ready for a groovy vacation, somewhere warm! Problem is, I don't like to watch much TV.

Hmmmm....I did go on a cruise to Mexico for my last birthday...and Feb 20th is coming up fast! *cough cough wink* ;-)

The thing about Lost is you watch one episode and you just HAVE to watch the next to see what happened! Its very addictive!

I just spent a couple hours making notes and drawing a timeline connecting all of the pieces I could after all of the revelations in the season premiere. I belong to a couple discussion groups, and regularly read a few related blogs... *cough*yesIknowI'mahugenerd*cough*

I have a lot of fun with it though. The conversation is usually pretty sophisticated, delving into spiritual and philosophical and mythological and psychological realms; the show's creators are constantly putting hints and clues and easter eggs in every episode that are fun to discover and discuss; and there are book discussion groups devoted to the books that are featured in the show and how their plots/themes/characters relate to those on Lost.

It's the only TV show I watch on a regular basis, so I don't feel too guilty about spending more time on it, and I like that people can get as involved with it as they want. I know plenty who simply watch it and enjoy it, and a handful who are far more obse...er, devoted than I am.
