Landslide lake in Pakistan - The Big Picture - Boston.com

Independent of the tragic loss of life and loss of property, I found this new lake, formed recently by a natural landslide in Pakistan, to be quite beautiful. Apparently though (as the last images show), it won't last.

Very thought provoking. And Yes, as commented... beautiful despite the humanly tragic aspects.

Ultimately we can't know, predict, or manipulate Mother Nature for long. That's probably a good thing, given that we also don't understand or credit her infinitely self-restorative powers.
