"New" development on 395?

The same floor plan over and over again really bugs me. The Peach Creek subdivision had the same floor plan right next door to each other, every house in the same color brick. Icky. But to be fair, when St. Joe was building full blast in Watercolor, many of those house were variations of the same handful of plans, but they added variations and mixed them up well, and they were interspersed with true custom houses. The overall look in WaterColor is homogeneous but not repetitious.

My take on Horton quality is that they do what they have to in order to meet Florida building code, but not a step more. We went through one of their models during Parade of homes where most of the second floor seemed out of plumb, and you could feel the bumps where the pieces of subfloor met each other.

But hey, their kitchens were granite and stainless, and all the buzzword stuff.

One of the funnier things about their model was their 'map of Northwest Florida', which proudly had an icon for St. Michael's College located in Niceville among their listings of higher ed in the area. Except that the St. Michael's in question is a semi-sham Caribbean medical school that uses that strip mall office as their American mail drop location, and the actual classes are on an island very far away. (Kind of a sign that their corporate office doesn't really do their local research well.)

Obviously they are not the pinnacle of architectural excellence or custom workmanship, I just think we need to regain perspective about what is decent or affordable housing.
