OMG The Waves Were Sweeeeet Today!

My friend was in from out of town. (went to Red Bar after all and it was awesome last night!!! - thanks for tips)

Anyway, we thought the weekend would be a rain out but NO NO NO - not so! Today at BMB it was terrific! Sun, waves (some tumbled me from head to toe) and unfortunately WAY too much sun. I usually don't stay out that long but my friend had one beach day so we did. I know I will look 120 yrs older now from all the sun cause it is feeling mighty tight!

Did anyone else get out to beach today?

Twice. The water was so wonderful this morning I went back for more late in the afternoon. Sky was starting to cloud up, and the light was all silvery. Hard to say which was nicer, the morning or the afternoon.

We showed up at the BMB access this afternoon around 3 and stayed a few hours. The waves were awesome! My 8 y/o son rode his first wave on a fiberglass long board, he was totally stoked. Great day at the beach!

Glad you had a great time and KUDOS on your 8 yr old son!! I know he is going to have fun telling that to his buds!

Did anyone see the pod of like a dozen dolphin all jumping and playing???

I got out my opera glasses (lol that's what I use them for now) and watched them for a bit. SO breathtaking!

We witnessed dolphins mating

It WAS a gorgeous day on the beach, and YES! we saw the dolphins. In fact, Fifth Sista and I got to take a double kayak out to watch them and lo and behold.... we actually saw dolphins mating!!

There were 4 dolphins swimming closely together in a bunch. The water was so unbelievably clear and we were right on top of them. It was like a beautiful choreographed dance, with the dolphins swimming in circles, upside down, always super close together. We stayed with them for 10-15 minutes and we were both pretty sure that what we were seeing was dolphins mating.

When we got home, we did some internet research and the videos we found online confirmed our suspicions.

PS I am SOOO bummed at this too much sun thing. I have been diligent about sunscreen, not being on beach too long, etc.... Got off the routine with the gf in town and I tossed and turned all night stinging. OUCH
