Prom transportation ideas wanted

got 8 kids, one of which doesn't want to do the limo thing, one who is "green", 2 or 3 becoming strapped for cash after all the other prom associated fees, and most will go along with whatever. All would probably prefer a more unique or cool ride though.
Excitement abounded when we started looking to see if we could find a Westfalia VW Van (until we discovered they only hold 5 or 6 people and are hard to come by).
Their original idea was to bling out our van with lights etc, but I nixed that because of lack of enough seats.
We offered to cover much of the cost of a limo if they wanted but one girl really doesn't want a limo.
I read about someone taking an ice cream truck and thought that would be so cool - plus I know of some very colorful, clean ones near where I work, but doubt they would have seating. sooo
any funn thoughts?

The funny thing is that Limo's can be green. We took a Limo one time into Destin. It was the big honker too, the Ford Expedition that Sunshine Shuttle and Limo have. It probably gets around 12 mpg. However, had we each taken our normal vehicles it would have been a total of 6-7 vehicles. I'm fairly confident that we saved gas and ultimately avoided 6-7 DUI's.

Alright!

I think we may be leaning toward a dad or two costumed up in chauffeur hats with black shirts & lime green neck ties and "neon out" the inside of a 12 seater van or 2 luxury cars.

One dad is their HS teacher/coach so that should be funn!
