Roku or Apple TV

Does anybody have Roku or Apple TV? I've been reading that these are bomb diggity alternatives to expensive and less-than-satisfactory mediacom cable tv programming... but some reviews also say that Roku freezes, times out, and drops channels after awhile.

Wondering if anyone has months/years long experience with this?

Dish/satellite is not an alternative at my house.

Thanks!

I have Roku. No issues with it freezing or timing out. I mostly use it for Netflix. There are lots of channels available but like cable, a lot of them are junk or for very limited interests. And some charge a monthly fee. Buy too many of those and you might as well get Mediacrap. But Roku is fine for what it does, easy to use.
I think I'll try a device to stream the internet to the tv next. Since I dropped cable and satellite a year or more ago I've found just about everything I want to watch on the net. The only issue is how to get it to the tv, since watching on the computer isn't a big enough screen.

I have both Roku and Apple TV. Both work fine, but I like the apple user interface and if you have other apple products like iPhone, iPad, or Mac you can play video or photos to the tv wirelessly!
