Dan Bailey, Chair of Seaside Repertory Theatre (The Rep) Board of Directors announced the company would complete the year in financially good health and with a strong organization.
?We are very pleased with the results of this season? stated Bailey. ?The board stepped up to address the challenges of the past years with the addition of a strong management team. I think we can anticipate a great beginning on a new year.? Bailey announced long-time Rep favorite, Brook Stetler was named Artistic Director and arts management professional, Catherine Guin, was recently named Managing Director.
?I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity by the board. This company has been my artistic home for the last four years and I can?t think of a better place to put down roots? said Stetler. ?I?m excited to work with the talented artists of The Rep.?
Stetler has been with The Rep for the past four years. ?Brook brings to this appointment a knowledge of regional theatre and a passionate love for the art? said Bailey. ?Through his work last season on The Tempest, he has built an excellent rapport with the artists, the board, and the audiences of The Rep.?
In addition to a new Artistic Director, a national search was conducted for a new Managing Director.
?This position attracted candidates from throughout the national theatre community and we had the opportunity to consider many talented arts administrators? said Bailey. ?I?m delighted to welcome a Managing Director with Catherine?s outstanding qualifications to our community.?
Catherine Guin brings more than twenty years of arts experience to The Rep having worked in some of the nation?s most prestigious arts organization including the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the Atlanta Ballet, the Alliance Theatre, Opera Cleveland, the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.
?I am tremendously excited about this opportunity. The Rep is a bold company built on an organic foundation. I am inspired by the dedicated and passionate board of directors, the professional staff, and the opportunity to work with artists the caliber of Brook? said Guin.
