Not to attempt to coin a phrase or anything but, isn't it ironic, don't you think, that as I sit on my deck tonight, spitting distance from The Bay that, admiring Life as evening turns to night, that I'm reminded of how blessed we are to enjoy the natural beauty of South Walton, and to live where we live, with its humbling chorus of night-sounds.....like the birds returning from their day of work, and the bugs calling to-and-fro to their friends in the Bugernet, or the occasional owl.....sounds interrupted only occasionally by the sounds of the cycling of random neighborhood A/C systems and, tonight, a passing low-flying single-engine plane). And isn't it ironic that tonight there is not an unwanted bug in sight......the refreshingly light breeze is gently blowing, and the feel in the air is such that even our normally-spastic 18month-old puppy/dog Golden Retriever is mellowed by our surroundings...and our cat/dog languishes idly by without a care. Perhaps it is the calm before the storm. As sure as I'm sitting here, enjoying these prescious moments, I am keenly aware of how fragile is all of Nature when left to the hands of Man. Be thankful; be hopeful; and be ready to lend a hand to preserve this wonderous piece of Paradise, bequeathed to us by our Creator, when your help is needed.....
