Silly putty and the t.v. remote

When our son was about 2, he was in the garage with his dad who was sanding down some wood or something. My son got the sanding block and started sanding down the whole side of our car!!! And it was only about 4 months old. We had to take it in to have the whole side repainted! It was not just "scratched" a little, it was literally sanded down! Made my husband sick to his stomach.

Yep, sounds like a 2 year old trying to help!! My Mom worked nights and one day she woke up from a short nap on the couch to find my sister waxing all the furniture with a stick of butter! Yikes.

Apparently this is not a unique occurance. I know the head recruiter for the Atlanta Falcons, who used to live down the street from my Grandma, and he has a similar story to tell. When he and his best friend (no, the "best friend" is not me. He is the brother of my best friend at the time.) were about 5 or 6 years old, I seem to recall one afternoon when his best friend found a can of red spray paint in the basement, and the boys decided to paint his Dad's brand-new white Ford pick-up truck shiny, although spotty, red. They did not bother with sanding prior to painting. At least your kid knows that you are supposed to sand first, and he is only two!
