Saw this Boeing BBJ (private 737) on the ramp at Panama City when I flew out yesterday. It's registration number shows it being registered to the Republic of San Marino in northern Italy. It says two things...
  • Somebody vacationing in Panama City Beach has way too much money
  • ECP is officially an international airport (but still no non-stop commercial flights to Europe!)

I have seen that jet there before a few times, always on the west side of the terminal. The Italians are coming!

Update...

Gotta love the world wide interweb...

Did some digging. It is owned by a company based in Panama City called Edge Aerodynamix (http://edge.aero/index.html). They are manufacturers of leading edge protection for helicopter blades, airplane propellors, and wing leading edges. From the pics, it looks like they have some military contracts. They announced moving to PC back in Oct of last year and are located near the airport...

"Aviation manufacturer will create 120 jobs and a capital investment of $77.92 million, including land"

Not sure why the airplane is registered to San Marino, though.

That jet has been sitting there for at least a month or two or three...

I thought so, I have flown out of ECP several times and it is always there. Let's speculate....Evil Nashville Country artist turned Spring Break carpet bagger..yeah..that sounds good!
