I see one of Gore's pals disputes the findings that global warming may decrease the number of hurricanes by saying "hurricane trends are difficult to study because the number of hurricanes naturally rises and falls over decades." According to this London Scholar, "this makes it hard to tell whether a trend is caused by natural variations or climate." Whew - thank God temperature has been constant over the last 15 billion years, otherwise, we would have all thought it a "natural variation" and Al Gore a kook.
