Looking for a place for 2 in October

New posts
Hey, that's up here in Michigan. Are you Michiganders? I, too, live in Michigan and am tiring of the cold which is why we got our places in SoWal... but I'd love to get to Mackinaw Island sometime -- haven't done that yet, though people rave about "up north" in Michigan.

No, we're actually from Illinois, but we wanted to do something a little different. I went to Mackinac in 5th grade when Peapod worked at the Grand Hotel for a summer, but haven't been back since.

Better bring your jackets and jeans because the high today will only be 68 here in Chicago. But I guess you already know that if you're in IL. But it's much colder in the UP. The leaves are already changing there! Have you researched the things to do for a full week in Mackinac?

I'm sure it is colder where you are! We can get away with a light jacket or sweater here today.

We will actually be there for 3 full days. Arriving Monday night, we have Tues, Wed and Thurs before we head back home on Friday. We may try to hit Canada on Friday and then start home, finishing our trip on Saturday.

We for sure want to take a carriage tour around the island and we'd like to see if we can tour a lighthouse. Other than that, we haven't nailed anything else down. Any suggestions?

OUrs is really only light jackets too, but windy & gloomy.

Don't have much additional info on Mackinac other than what you've posted, but it's beautiful and relaxing. Glad to see you'll be going for the 3 days because I'm not sure there's enough to do for a week.
Be sure to take pix!

Oh trust me, we'll take pictures. My husband is snap happy, which is great, since I'll tend to leave without the camera!
