Today was to be the perfect day. All our home improvement wrapped up over the weekend. I planned to clean and hang with my fellow SoWal buds on GB.

About 2p.m. Bailey and Guinness expressed a desire to play in the yard. I was good with this. The finish line was in sight. Perfect timing for a romp in the yard and an early dinner was all in the plan.

Then, the plan went way south. Bailey came in. No Guinness. I checked the pool, the rest of the yard. No Guinness. Then I discovered the gate to the fence wide OPEN!

Long story, happy ending! After several hours of searching a Great Samaritian, stopped, heard my plight, saw Guinness on his way back home. He's found. He's OK and I am forever grateful for the nice young man that was kind enough to let me know. Guinness would not get in his truck, so he was sweet enough to tell me to take his leash and just wait.

I am so sorry I never made it to GB, but I'm so gald he's home!!!!!

Oh my!! So glad to hear this had a happy ending!!

I admit it. I was a freakin' basket case! After several hours, my legs were wobbly and the tummy was not feeling the love.

I hope with all my heart I can repay this nice guy, someway, somehow!

I bet you were a basket case!! My director of nurses had a similar story this morning. (Same one with schnauzers). She also has a standard poodle and a lab pup--she's gonna make those labridoodles...anyhoo, she was up in Oklahoma this weekend and the lab and the poodle decided to have an adventure. She said she got her gun and her cell phone and walked 4 miles around Lake Texoma looking for them--crying all the way. Her story ended well too--her 90 year old dad found them across the lake from where she was looking at "some rich doctor's house" who also had labs. They found new friends!

I didn't ask Guinness if he had made new friends. I was too busy scooping him up and getting inside to ask.

I am gald your friend had a happy ending. I cannot, yes I can, how desperate she was. ;-)

Don't these kids (animals) know how much we worry?

My heart has skipped twice now. I cannot even imagine what those three hours were like for you. Happy endings, indeed. Sleep well, I know a doggie who will. ;-)
