Seawall Decision in Today's Paper

I wonder if these people's assessed value is now changed since they have reinforced property and have taken possession of County Property to use as their own? Just a side thought. :idontno:

Hey you've got my support for Friday Fiesta. Oh, that's sand. Sorry.

I'll be there for Friday Fiesta.

BTW -- what is leather skin?
It is what we may need to handle the threats from the homeonwers which may come our way. Protesting ain't for whimps. ;-)

Use a little of this :bang: to prepare. To sit peacefully and truly enjoy the sunset while taking the verbal abuse and potentially physical abuse, one needs leather skin. Have the video and tape recorders handy along with the Sheriff's number just in case any threats are made. ;-)

Also, technically, we will be sitting on the beach, even though we will be 20ft or so above the actual beach, so no glass containers are allowed. We may want to avoid alcohol consumption all together so that our tempers don't flair. Just pretend like it is a normal sunset gathering, sans the alcohol. We are just out for some time on the land designated as public beach.

Please note that you cannot park on the street at the Greenwood access, so you may have to stroll a block or two, in order to leagally park.

I was over there today. The Greenwood access is closed. You have to go down to the beach on one of the other stairs. There is another access about 300 feet east of the Greenwood access.

Right, if you are going to the actual beach. I was suggesting using the closed public beach access to legally access the newly elevated public land located on the north side of the seawalls, which is literally in the 5 homeowners' back yards. -- Sunset with an elevated view.

From today's paper: " The sea walls and reconstructed dunes reach anywhere from 20 to about 30 feet onto county land."

The ?misrepresentatives? of the Montgomery street geotube/ seawall owners claimed they did not know where the property lines were and who owned the beach.

So, here is my idea. Let's go set up beach chairs and coolers on the public property in these homeowners back yards and have ourselves some sunset gatherings. I think it will be one of the nicest public sunset views around;-), except for the illegal black dirt which they used for replacement beach sand. I would love to see them call the cops on me after they did this crap. They don't know how much pudding they stirred with this one. We can legally access the properties from the public access adjacent to the eastern-most house. What do you say? :idontno:

I say let's get a permit for a BONFIRE! ;-)

20 to 30 feet onto the public beach is absurd! As John R said "Ignorance of the law" doesn't hold water! :pissed:

If the issue was tabled to gather more information (legal, I presume) -might that be a positive?
Or do you they just hope people will forget or not protest any more. I think people who really care will continue to follow this and make their voices heard and be at follow up meetings.
