Seawall Decision in Today's Paper

I say let's get a permit for a BONFIRE! ;-)

20 to 30 feet onto the public beach is absurd! As John R said "Ignorance of the law" doesn't hold water! :pissed:

If the issue was tabled to gather more information (legal, I presume) -might that be a positive?
Or do you they just hope people will forget or not protest any more. I think people who really care will continue to follow this and make their voices heard and be at follow up meetings.

.

If you don't need a permit to steal land why bother getting a permit for a little fire? Heck you might not need a permit for anything, just get an engineer and a lawyer if you need to.

sounds like the County wouldn't even know it was public property where we had our bonfire, so who needs a stinking permit?

ecopal, funny that you mention that the representation claim they didn't know where the property line was nor who owned the beach. I freaking clerk could gather that info. Heck, even a student such as bsmart can check on a simple thing like that and hire a surveyor if necessary. I am no lawyer, but I could win the opposing side to that position very simply. I would base my case on just what they said. "If you didn't know where the property line was located, you should have hired a surveyor to inform you of your property line. Total cost = $350 on a bad day per lot. I think that is not much expense, considering the possible error of erecting a $100,000 + seawall on someone else's property. Professionals do this work every day in this County, for reasons much less costly."

One of our guests this week is staying at Seagrove Villas, and said the folks there are saying they will close for good at the end of this year, cottages to be torn down. True? What will replace the old cottages?

Maybe we should sit on the beach and mourn the loss of another piece of quaint old Florida history? :idontno:

SJ, are we still on for the sit-in tommorow? It is payday, so I will have bail money. :clap_1:

:lolabove: ...I would join y'all, but who would take care of Molly if I am in the slammer?
