Mr. Pod left today for a 10-day business trip, I'm hosting a slumber party for seven 10-year-old girls tonight, following being in charge of an 8th grade chili fundraiser at our school's fall festival.

You wouldn't have been asked to take on these responsibilities if somewhere someone didn't have high hopes in your abilities. You wouldn't have volunteered for these responsibilities if somewhere in yourself you didn't have some subconscious level of high hope in your abilities.

One day at a time and don't be afraid to ask for help!! People will always be helpful if you just ask for it. For us to move here, my husband had to "move" here 7 months ahead of me with a 5 month old, a 7 yr. old and 10 yr. old, and a full time job. You learn that you are stronger than you think and that your friends are more special. You'll appreciate him that much more when he gets home and gives you that well deserved ???

Just enjoy all of it because when your kids go off to college, you'll miss it.

I'll admit that being responsible for all of this is stressful. At my daughter's request, for her 10th birthday I took an SUV load of her friends to see Cats. It was below 20 degrees outside, and the TV weathermen were saying not to go outside. Well, we at least had to walk from the parking lot to The Fox. I got so stressed out about being responsible for that many kids that I had the second migraine in my life (the first was when I was in the hospital for two months before my daughter was born because I went into early labor). I went virtually totally blind. During intermission the girls wanted to go to the restroom. I just held onto my daughter and she led the way -- I didn't tell the kids because I didn't want to scare them. Thankfully the migraine went away in about 30 minutes. I was so scared about the hassle of getting us all home if the migraine had continued.
