GT's mascot is the Yellow Jacket. Yeah, we have a bug as our mascot. One of the good ol' rally cries is "Gooo Jackets! Sting 'em!"

Oh, ok - gotcha. I admit it - I'm a northerner and not much of a sports fan either. Well "Gooo Jackets" sounds a lot better than that other rally cry someone was quoting the other day for University of South Carolina!

BTW when I was working on one of my masters degrees at USC (as in South Carolina), I bought a bumper sticker at the USC bookstore that said, "YOU CAN'T LICK OUR COCKS." My husband wouldn't let me put it on the car. I can't imagine why! So, yes, I know about nasty rally cries.

Probably the most hilarious mascot I've ever heard of is from some minor league baseball team in San Antonio. The mascot is named Henry the Puffy Taco. I kid you not.

I grew up as a shamrock...now we were tough.A few years ago they changed their name to the Rocks, much tougher now. ;-)

I thought it may be Beach Runner's faux name, you know, like faux fur. She was talking about picking up her fur jackets at Needless Markcups. Or, it could be one of those guys in her family who was at least smart enough to go to a college in Georgia, even if it wasn't UGA. ;-);-)
