What was I thinking?

Granola is the best IMO- BUT---you must stop ironing your jeans. That is NOT granola. That is just wrong.:nono1:

Ironing jeans - LMAO. Ironing anything is just wrong. I'm kicking myself for all the new clothes I've bought that require ironing (talk about fashion mistakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Cheering's avatar gave me the idea for this thread. What is the biggest fashion mistake you've made?
Okay, so I had my Ph.D. and went for an interview at the University of South Carolina. Gainesville is pretty much disinterested in high-style fashion, so I had gotten used to its laid-back look. I bought a special "outfit" at one of the shops on University Avenue -- a red and white checkered minidress with white buffalo sandals (remember those - they had a three-inch base which put me at 6'1" tall). I was 25 and had long hair, dyed sun-bunny blonde.

And they flippin' hired me. Yes, my grades and resume were great, but three years of living away from The A-town had given me a grade of zero on my fashion skills. Maybe the guy who interviewed me was intimidated by me? With those sandals on, I was about a foot taller than he was. He was probably afraid not to hire me.:floor:

I like flannel shirts.

My fashion right now is jeans, a t-shirt--usually a grey vneck, and chaco sandals, and if it is cold I throw on my favorite North Face jacket which has seen a lot of hikes, biking and kayaking.
Oh, flannel shirts! Brokeback time!

If there ever was a "got pics" occasion, this is it.

A pair of banana yellow heels. My girlfriends put whip cream and cherries on them so they looked like a banana split one night after lots of drinks and clubbing. :funn:

big football shoulder pads and really big leg warmers on a short person:roll: . and big hair that took hours every morning. with big Birmingham-style make up. thank God I moved to Florida in the 80's and found that hair and make up are not required for walking out the door each day...

my mother still tells me I need some lipstick and blush. and my hair is too flat.
