wedding report from the beach

i was surprised, the wedding in the house in front of us seemed to actually be pretty tame. they had about 5 cases of corona, 5 cases of corono light, and 3 cases of heineken stacked up, and soft drinks and other cans of beer in tubs filled with ice. the festivities started at 4:30 or so the dude i asked told me. we were coming home from supper about 9:30 and way off in the distance heading up 30a we saw fireworks. we jokingly said it's probably the wedding festivities. it was. they were huge fireworks too, way up in the sky. they had a huge tent set up to the side of the house with a dj, and lots of loud music, a blend of country and rock. lots of singing along with the songs. the good thing is they promptly stopped about 11 pm, and instantly quieted down. this caused mr audie and i to have several questions:

do you need a permit to have a big shebang like this on the beach with rented tents, etc ?

oh yeah, i forgot the boardwalk to the beach - they put little white bags with candles in them, luminaries i think they are called, and tiki torches all along the boardwalk - and i am assuming the bride and groom walked up the boardwalk to the party because when we went to the beach this morning it was covered with birdseed all the way down it. of course they didn't sweep it off...

another question - aren't fireworks against the law, no exceptions, on the beach ?

are you near WaterSound? Mr. Kitty was told there was to be wedding with fireworks at WS. In fact, we heard fireworks while watching films last night.

no, we are just up from one seagrove place, i can see it from the beach. you turn at the little strip mall that has the mailbox etc. store in it, you turn onto lakewood drive.
the address of the wedding was 58 deer lake beach road. i could see this thru my binoculars.....yes, i travel with binoculars...

actually no....it was a pain for those of us staying behind the house, but oh well,....

But Audie, I don't understand. Weddings are supposed to make you go all mushy and sentimental inside. All that fresh new love, a new life together...it doesn't make you smile? :idontno:

no. i've turned into my father, and all i can see is all the money someone spent on the wedding.......that chances are better than average won't last. as you can tell i am neither mushy nor sentimental :D

Well, if a beach wedding doesn't do it for you, then nothing will! I hope at least you swiped a Corona or two.

AHA! Now we are at the real crux of the matter. It wasn't so much the wedding as the lack of good drinks to swipe!!
