SOWAL is gonna get weather

New posts
oh yeah. it's stirring up now. nice and warm, windy and cloudy... rain to start very soon. I hope bsmarty keeps us informed of possible tornadoes...

I was on the weather.gov site in one of my classes this afternoon and saw that Walton County was under a Tornado Warning. I wanted to post something but I could not type during the lecture :( .

oh, great! we could all be dead because you couldn't type in class! JK. now you are back and can resume your weather reporting duties.

It is only a little weather right now, but I am watching Ch 7 news/weather right now, and the big stuff is on the way. Looks to be halfway between Destin and Pensacola right now, and it ain't pretty. Big tornadoes are predicted to come out of this storm. I need to go to Freeport, but I think I may have to wait until another day. :bang: I do not want to be up there when this storm rolls through. The area north of the Bay always seems to get the tornadoes.

Rapunzel, hang in there girl. You can always go hang out at the library for the afternoon. There are no trees around that parking lot.[/QUOTE]

AGH! I was supposed to return my already overdue library books on my way home...too late!
You can go to their website and renew your books if you have set up an online account with them. You can also renew by phone

So, what's the bottom line on the SoWal weather? Was there any damage?

I was on my way to a doctor appointment in north Atlanta in the awful weather (would have cancelled but I was having a health issue - after 4 hours of tests, the doctor said that everything is okay). But as I was driving up, hubby called and let me listen to the sounds at his office. First of all, sirens were blaring. A recorded announcement over the loudspeaker said, "We are under a weather emergency. Go immediately to your designated emergency areas." It was a tornado warning. I asked him to drive home and check on Pepper and the house, but they wouldn't let him leave. As soon as the warning was over, he drove home and everything was okay.

Nothing like adding a little stress to the day. Just hope our home in Seagrove is okay.

Looks like just a lot of wind. Everything should be fine, but I'll be glad to go check on it if you want (I'm in Seagrove) Just pm me if I can help.
