Anyone here attend the Tuesday morning Book Discussion at the Coastal Library? I am curious about it, but most of the Book Discussions groups I have belonged to were in the evening and included wine...is this one interesting, funn, or what?

I don't attend, but I know some of the ladies who do attend, and they are fun people. It is a book group, and they can be serious about their reading and discussion. I am sure that joining the group could add a little diversity to your local social circle.

If any of the attendees are SoWallers, please someone PM me. I have a few questions that I didn't get to ask when we were at the library.

is it for females only? i wouldn't mind being a member of a book club, but all the one's i know exclude men.

Sometimes the book choices exclude men- if the club picks a lot of "chick lit", you will run screaming from the first meeting!:floor:

John R, I am fairly certain that the group does not exclude men, but I have never heard any of the gulls talking about men in the group. They read a variety of books.

The last book club I was a part of chased me off with all the chick lit/overwrought memior choices. I'm so glad to know there is a serious book discussion group. Does anyone know what the reading list looks like?
