Last night, a big snowstorm here in WA State and it is snowing again hard tonight. Sure hope we don't lose power, not an unusual occurrence, because the temp is expected to dip down to 17 degrees...brrrrr! It is snowing hard again now and everything is a winter wonderland. There is a large multi-gabled house directly across the harbor from us that looks for the world like a Kincaid painting, snow-covered roof and gables and lawn, lights blazing merrily inside, curl of woodsmoke coming from the chimney, a large everygreen tree outside illuminated with blue lights and a star and all reflected in the water. Canadian geese and other waterfowl were flying along the surface of the water, honking away, all afternoon long. Yes, snow falling on cedars, in the land where the book of the same name was set. What a magical ending to a week that kicks off the holiday season!
