Florida Wildlife Officers Jim Moore, David Erdman and Nick Price responded to an incident involving two whitetail deer swimming in the Gulf of Mexico off Panama City Beach.
A buck and a doe had entered the surf zone and been swept along shore. As people gathered watching, the deer attempted to continue swimming away.
After an extended period of time, they became exhausted and were struggling to exit the water. The officers cleared a path for the buck and it made its way back into the state park.
The doe succumbed to exhaustion and Officer Erdman had to noose her in order to remove her from the water. She was then transported by truck and safely released in the park.

So did the doe survive? Did she just sort of collapse but later she was okay?
